Why study BTEC Digital Creative Media?

What will I study during the course duration?

The BTEC is both examination and coursework based with four units designed to cover a  wide range of academic and vocational skills. You will research and analyse the language of  Media with a strong focus on media key concepts. This knowledge constructs your pre production planning for a professionally filmed final production in year two. You will learn  industry-standard editing techniques and research the development of a genre which will  form the basis of your final script. The course acts as a thorough introduction to the most  important aspects of the media and the various related career opportunities.

How will I be assessed?

The BTEC has two units which are examination based (Unit 1 & Unit 8) and two units which  are internally assessed (Unit 4 & Unit 10). Each unit is given a credit value depending on the  guided learning hours. At the start of each internally assessed unit you will receive an  assignment brief detailing the tasks and criteria to be met. At the end of these units you will  be given a grade of pass, merit or distinction with written feedback.
