Leigh Academy Tonbridge is a fast-paced and exciting place to study; the teachers are excellent, the students are friendly, and you can develop personally as well as academically.
We think it is important to recognise that post-16 education is a journey, and that every student follows their own individual route or path to reach their particular goal. Throughout their time studying in the Sixth Form, students have access to small class sizes, excellent pastoral support, a broad programme of study and comprehensive university and employment advice.
Leigh Academy Tonbridge Sixth Form offers the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme. Whilst still providing students with the academic qualifications necessary for university applications, alongside our strong vocational provision, we also offer the IBCP core. We fully believe that the professional and personal skills this gives our students will improve their academic performance and send them out into the world as employable, resilient and caring people ready to change the world for the better!

Michael Crow, Principal
Welcome from the Head of Sixth Form
I am delighted that you are considering embarking on your Post 16 journey here at Leigh Academy Tonbridge. We are incredibly proud that students leaving our sixth form at the end of Year 13 all embark on the degree, apprenticeship or career of their choice. This is down to their drive and determination, but also the hard work of the Sixth Form staff helping the students realise their dreams. We have unashamedly high academic aspirations for all our students, and offer small classes and experienced teachers who deliver high standards of teaching.
We are now a genuinely mixed-gender sixth form, with an increased number of girls, many of whom hold student leadership positions. The sixth form is all inclusive and fully caters not only for the large cohort of Leigh Academy Year 11s but also for the large and growing number of external joiners.
All students receive mentoring as well as comprehensive careers advice and UCAS support. Our PSHE programme is tailored to the needs of our young men and women to support them academically and professionally.
It is also important to us to treat our sixth formers as young adults, and as part of that we offer Year 12 an independent day on Wednesday, when they are not required to attend the school site, but instead trusted to work independently at home.
As part of Leigh Academy Trust we have seen recent investment in our sixth form, which has enabled us to broaden our curriculum offer, always with a focus on providing a balance between academic and vocational subjects.
There is a growing buzz around our sixth form and we would be delighted to receive your application to join us!
