Grade 5 in English and Grade 6 in Spanish, along with at least 3 other GCSE at grade 4 or above
Why study A level Spanish?
Studying Spanish at A Level is a truly exciting opportunity to build on key skills developed through GCSE and extend students’ knowledge not only of the Spanish language but also of the Hispanic world. There are a broad variety of topics which are studied throughout the two years from immigration in the Hispanic world to the differences between the regional identities within Spain.
Alongside understanding and evaluating these themes, students will also have the opportunity to study both a Spanish book and film which allows them the opportunity to expand and develop their analytical skills. Lessons will be conducted primarily in Spanish with the aim that students boost their confidence in their spoken abilities as well as their general communication skills.
The many different facets to this course make it constantly challenging and interesting and we very much look forward to you joining the journey.

In the second year of the course, you will take external exams that assess content covered in the first and second year. These exams will determine your A level grade.

Students studying Spanish can develop a range of skills that will allow them to further their education within subjects such as teaching, politics, event management and journalism.
