The A level biology course is designed for students who have enthusiasm for the subject as well as those students who have a desire to continue their studies of biology in further education or through following a biology related career. Students who wish to study A level will need to demonstrate an excellent work ethic and the ability to study independently to help support their studies.
Like all the science subjects, A Level biology is a hugely well respected qualification by employers, colleges and universities. Studying biology at A Level will enable you to consider careers such as medicine, physiotherapy, sports science, environmental science, veterinary science and many others.
Students are assessed by three external examinations at the end of year 13. There is also a required practical endorsement which students must complete the achieve their final qualification.
