Leigh Academy Tonbridge is thrilled to announce another incredible year of GCSE results for our students. These results are testament to both the substantial efforts of the students but also the great skill of their teachers.
We have broken the record for our students’ attainment again with our highest ever Attainment 8 score of 45.4 (a national headline based on each student’s best 8 GCSE grades.) We have also seen a significant increase in the numbers of students passing the ever important English and maths GCSEs with 72.5% (up from 66.7% in 2023) achieving at least a grade 4 in both subjects, and 44.7% (up from 41.7% in 2024) achieving a grade 5 or above in both subjects. This was also the first year that the majority of students have studied the English Baccalaureate suite of subjects and they have done very well with 63.5% passing Spanish and 16% of students achieved an incredible grade 7 or above.
There have been some incredible individual performances that are worthy of special note:
- Ezra: 9s in Spanish and English literature, 8s in English language, maths and history, 7s in science and geography, 6 in computer science;
- Tom: 8s in English literature, history and Spanish, 8/7 in science, 7 in maths, 6s in English language and computer science
- Jacob: 9 in Spanish, 8 in English literature, 7 in history and English language, 7/6 in science, 6s in maths, computer science and geography;
- Beau: 8s in Spanish and English language, 7 in maths and English literature, 6 in geography, 5/5 in science, Distinction in sport, Merit in business;
- Rowan: 8/7 in science, 7s in Spanish, geography and maths, 6s in English literature and English language, Distinction in sport, Merit in business;
- Louis: 8 in English language, 7 in history, 6s in Spanish, science, computer science, maths and English literature, Distinction in business. We are delighted that Louis will be in our first T Level cohort; and.
- Zac: 7s in maths, biology and Spanish, 6s in chemistry, physics, computer science, English language and geography and 5 in English literature.
