There are some fantastic upcoming events where students can meet Young Adult and Children’s authors, get books signed, and learn more about writing.

Tunbridge Wells Literary Festival

On Saturday the 30th at 2pm, Darren Shan, known for horror series such as The Saga of Darren Shan, will be speaking about his newest book. Also this Saturday, at 4pm, Simon James Green, author of Noah Can’t Even and Alex in Wonderland, will be talking about his latest novel.

On Sunday the 1st at 2pm Manjeet Mann will be talking about her Carnegie-shortlisted and Costa Book Award winning verse novel, The Crossing.

Finally, on Bank Holiday Monday at 10:30 author Kiran Millwood Hargrave and illustrator Tom de Freston will be talking about their collaborative novel, Julia and the Shark. Also on Monday at 2:30 author Sita Brahmachari and artist Natalie Sirett will be talking about their book When Shadows Fall

Young Adult Literature Convention

The Young Adult Literature Convention, part of London Film and Comic Con, is finally back this year! This is the biggest Young Adult literature event in the UK, where attendees are able to watch a large selection of authors talk on panels and get books signed by those authors. Matt Killeen Visits The Hayesbrook School 

On the 10th of May, author Matt Killeen will be visiting Hayesbrook Academy to talk to Years 7, 8, and 9 and will host a writing workshop with a select group of students chosen by English teachers.
